## EM-Radio.com is a progressive, community-oriented, free-form internet radio platform broadcasting globally “At The Speed of Sound”, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

### This station harkens back to an era of radio when live DJs served as both cultural tastemakers and trusted sources of community news. The “Wireless” – be it an old Farm Radio; a hulking AM Console Radio; or maybe a Tabletop Radio out on the front porch – drew family, friends and travelers together to soak in the day’s news as well as a wide variety of entertainment from both the local community and around the world.

**The Aadam Jacobs Collection on ElectroMagnetic Radio:** Aadam Jacobs is a notable figure in the Chicago music scene, known for his extensive audio recordings of live shows during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000’s. Often referred to as "Chicago's Taping Guy," Jacobs has spent decades capturing thousands of live performances, particularly in Chicago's indie rock and underground music venues. Jacobs' dedication to preserving these live performances has culminated in roughly 10,000 tapes with approximately 3 sets per tape. So the archive likely is 30,000 separate performances.

These recordings include early performances by bands such as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and The Flaming Lips at iconic venues like Lounge Ax, The Metro, the Double Door, and the Smart Bar where he was both a fan and an informal archivist of the live music scene. His meticulous efforts have created a valuable archive of Chicago's music history, preserving countless performances by both established and emerging artists.

Starting in the fall of 2024, the Aadam Jacobs Collection is being digitized and shared with the world by a team of volunteers from the [Live Music Archive](https://archive.org/details/etree) at the Internet Archive. To date, nearly 3,000 recordings are available to listen and download, with more than 1,8million page views to the Collection's website.

As is our pirate radio nature and with the pure intent that airing some of this extraordinary content will accelerate interest and support for the amazing resource that is the Internet Archive, **ElectroMagnetic Radio will air one recording from the Collection each Friday night at 8pm Pacific Time / 11pm Eastern Time / 4:00am UTC**.

As an OG member of the ElectroMagnetic Radio Family, DJ Lupo's untimely departure from this earthly station was a shock to all of us. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to his family and friends who are dealing with this sudden loss. We chose to honor his legacy with music by airing a series of "Flow Shows" *in memoriam* as our small way of celebrating DJ Lupo's life and contribution to our little free-form radio experiment.

The "**Women in Vinyl Podcast**" enhances and expands on what the Women in Vinyl organization as a whole aims to do: facilitate conversations from the vinyl record industry to educate, demystify, and diversify the vinyl community.

**The Aadam Jacobs Collection on ElectroMagnetic Radio:** Aadam Jacobs is a notable figure in the Chicago music scene, known for his extensive audio recordings of live shows during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000’s. Often referred to as “Chicago’s Taping Guy,” Jacobs has spent decades capturing thousands of live performances, particularly in Chicago’s indie rock and underground music venues. Jacobs’ dedication to preserving these live performances has culminated in roughly 10,000 tapes with approximately 3 sets per tape. So the archive likely is 30,000 separate performances.

These recordings include early performances by bands such as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and The Flaming Lips at iconic venues like Lounge Ax, The Metro, the Double Door, and the Smart Bar where he was both a fan and an informal archivist of the live music scene. His meticulous efforts have created a valuable archive of Chicago’s music history, preserving countless performances by both established and emerging artists.

Starting in the fall of 2024, the Aadam Jacobs Collection is being digitized and shared with the world by a team of volunteers from the [Live Music Archive](https://archive.org/details/etree) at the Internet Archive. To date, nearly 3,000 recordings are available to listen and download, with more than 1,8million page views to the Collection’s website.

As is our pirate radio nature and with the pure intent that airing some of this extraordinary content will accelerate interest and support for the amazing resource that is the Internet Archive, **ElectroMagnetic Radio will air one recording from the Collection each Friday night at 8pm Pacific Time / 11pm Eastern Time / 4:00am UTC**.
