Bad at Goodbyes spotlights threatened plant and animal species from the IUCN Critically Endangered Red List. We shares facts, research and conservation information, and play field recordings of our subjects and their habitat, when available. Then we spend the bulk of the show creating a space for contemplation and mourning by performing a kind of elegiac soundbath. A soundscape of quietude, reflection, and maybe regret. It is unlikely that any of these species will survive the 21st Century. Perhaps we might acknowledge their passage with a moment of our attention, a recognition of our kinship, and with a commitment to personal and systemic change.
